All reservations made through ZooReservations@santa-ana.org. Recommended 2 weeks or more in advance for self-guided visits, 4 weeks or more for education experiences. Payment due on date of program.

Education programs include regular zoo admission. Membership and Passes cannot be used towards self-guided visits or education experiences. Educational materials are sent via e-mail with your reservation confirmation.

All programs are aligned with State of California Science Education Standards with many cross-curricular elements.

Students become "explorers," answering questions about animal adaptations. The adventure begins with a live animal spotlight followed by an exploration of the zoo on a self-guided tour. In various sections of the zoo, students interact with education volunteers to learn about the specific adaptations for animals they observe.
  • GRADE LEVEL: PreK - 1st
  • ADMISSION: $8 per person, Students and Chaperones. (Teachers are free.)

  • DATES AVAILABLE:October 01 - June 01, Tuesdays and Thursdays only.
  • TIMES:Timed entries with 9:30am, 10:00am, and 10:30am start times. Education stations close at 12:00 noon.



This exciting hands-on interactive laboratory session explores the world of birds through observation and investigation. Students become experts in the specialized adaptations of species including fowl, parrots and birds of prey.
  • GRADE LEVEL: 2nd - 6th
  • ADMISSION: $12 per person, Students and Chaperones. (Teachers are free.)

    *Includes all materials such as owl pellets.
  • DATES AVAILABLE:October 01 - June 01, Tuesdays and Thursdays only.
  • TIMES:2 hour program, 10:00am - 12:00pm.
