Cathi Decker, Executive Director
Cathi Decker developed her skills from previous positions at Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, SeaWorld and her director's position with of one of the largest animal rescue non-profits in Southern California. Her broad business background blends seamlessly with her passion for animals and the community to lead the Zoo into the next decade. She received her undergraduate degree with honors in Communications from the University of California, San Diego. She went on to participate in two graduate programs. The first was the Masters of Public Relations and Advertising program at California State Fullerton. The second was the Business Management and Fundraising program at the University of California, Irvine. Cathi is a long time participant and presenter at numerous AZA (Association of Zoos and Aquariums) national conferences. She is an Advisory Member for the AZA Advancement Committee and the Chair of the AZA Support Directors. She also is a respected member of IAAPA (International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions). Cathi has been with the Zoo since 1996.

Kevin Jackson, Director of Operations
Kevin Jackson, Director of Operations, brings 9 Years Zoo Operations Experience and 10 Years Tourist Industry and Restaurant experience to the position. He has also volunteered with animal rescue groups. Kevin has received certification from the State Inspectors as a Train and Carrousel operator and trainer. He's led numerous training sessions at the Zoo. He is also skilled in keeping the rides operational.

Tom Decker, Director of Communications & Technology
Tom Decker, Director of Communications & Technology, earned a B.S. in Information & Computer Science from UC Irvine and has taken post-graduate courses in management, fundraising, and grant writing. He has over 20 years experience in project management with Producer, Designer, and/or Writing credits for over 30 computer and board games. His grants written for the Zoo have generated substantial income for Zoo projects, education programs, and the animals.

Vanessa Anderson, Office and Accounting Manager
Vanessa Anderson, Office Manager and Financials Assistant, brings 12 years experience in office administration and finance, 6 Years Lead Animal Keeper experience from the Living Desert in Palm Desert, CA and 4 years experience in wild horse rescue and other animal rescue groups. She also attended the AZA management school in West Virginia and has taken courses in QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, and office management.

Estela Codiz, Membership & Rentals Manager
Estela Codiz, Membership and Rentals Manager, has courses towards her AA degree in Liberal Arts, and brings over ten years of membership sales experience. Before joining the Friends of Santa Ana Zoo, she worked as a tutor for elementary kids in the afterschool program.

Paris Devantier, Event and Volunteer Assistant
Paris Devantier, Event & Volunteer Assistant, earned her B.S. in Ecology, Behavior and Evolution from UCLA. While attending school, she volunteered and worked at the Aquarium of the Pacific. After receiving her degree, she furthered her education in animal behavior and conservation while developing experience in exotic animal care through internships at both Emerald Forest Bird Gardens and EFBC's Feline Conservation Center. Before joining FOSAZ, Paris worked in exotic animal nutrition at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. She is an aspiring aviculturist with a particular interest in toucans.

Raeyana Ross, Assistant Manager of Staff & Scheduling
Raeyana Ross, Assistant Manager of Staff & Scheduling and member of the AAZK committee, has experience as a zoo keeper at The California Living Museum in Bakersfield, CA. She has worked in a rehabilitation center for California native wildlife. There she was in charge of rehabilitating injured and orphaned wildlife. Her greatest accomplishment to date has been releasing a number of these animals back to their natural habitat in the wild or helping to relocate them to a permanent home. She has courses toward Administration of Justice and her current major is Wildlife Management. Her career goal is to work in a wildlife rehabilitation center or work on a rescue reserve. Raeyana has attended seminars in Basic Supervision and Communications.

Christopher Castillo, Weekend Manager & Inventory Controller
Christopher Castillo, Weekend Manager & Inventory Controller, graduated from Humboldt State University with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Wildlife Biology and is currently working towards a graduate degree in biology. He has participated in scientific studies on endangered species, jungle biodiversity, predator-prey interactions, and animal behavior. He earned certifications as a Coastal Naturalist through the non-profit organization Friends of the Dunes and as a Certified Interpretive Guide through the National Association for Interpretation, allowing him to work as a Beach Naturalist with the Bureau of Land Management. He has been successful in positions as varied as Facilities Coordinator for the Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center to Primate Rehabilitation Intern working with conservation organizations in Panama.

Bryan Solis, Assistant Manager of Membership Ambassadors
Bryan Solis, Assistant Manager of Membership Ambassadors, has over five years experience of working and volunteering with Friends of Santa Ana Zoo and various non-profit organizations in the Orange County area. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science. Bryan also has a certificate from the Dale Carnegie Teen Leadership and Communication Course and was the American Red Cross President at his high school four consecutive years.
