"Holidays with the Critters" at the Santa Ana Zoo

Come one, come all to our annual holiday family festival, "Holidays with the Critters," at the Santa Ana Zoo, located at 1801 E. Chestnut Ave, sponsored by Microsemi Corporation. This magical event is open to everyone and takes place on Saturday, December 17th and Sunday, December 18th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, rain or shine...or, if the rumors are true, snow at the Santa Ana Zoo!

The Zoo entrance and Farm area will feature live entertainment, exciting animal shows, beautiful light displays, holiday decorations, games, holiday storytelling, fun interactive crafts, five "treat" stations with big prizes including an additional "prize" station! Come early and see "Quitara" our pregnant female camel� there was no room at the Inn so she came to live with us at the Zoo this winter!

Admission to this winter wonderland is only $6 per person or $3 per Zoo Member. December 17th is City of Santa Ana Night and Seniors Night when Santa Ana city residents, employees, and all seniors (60+) get in for free. Additionally, December 18th is Member Appreciation Night when Santa Ana Zoo Members get in for free. Conservation Carrousel and Zoofari Express Train Rides will be available for $3 each, and combo tickets for $5 each.


21st Annual Boo at the Zoo: A "Merry not Scary" Family Fun Event"

The Santa Ana Zoo, located at 1801 E. Chestnut Ave, presents the 21st Annual Boo at the Zoo! This 5 night event will be held Saturday-October 22nd, Sunday-October 23rd, Friday-October 28th, Saturday-October 29th, and Sunday-October 30th, from 5:30pm-8:00pm, rain or shine. Admission is $12 per person ages 2 & up, and only $6 per Zoo Member.

Boo at the Zoo is one of the safest places for young children to trick-or-treat for Halloween enjoying goodies from 10 toys/treats stations. It's a "Merry not Scary" family fun event, and everyone (young and young at heart) is encouraged to come in costume! There is no better place to hear cheerful Halloween tales from costumed storytellers, see nocturnal animals up close and personal, play fun games, sing along with happy Halloween music, join in creative crafts, and dance along with Dracula SAZOO, our monkey mascot, in the costume parade! All the cheer without the fear!

The "Boo"fari Express Train Ride will be making its way around the tracks and the animals of the Conservation Carrousel will be joyfully carrying riders. The Tustin-Santa Ana Rotary Club will sell hot dogs, hamburgers, chips and soda as a fundraiser for the Zoo.


Santa Ana Zoo at Prentice Park presents ZOOFARI 2011: "Get Spotted at the Zoo!"

On Saturday, August 27, 2011, from 5:30 PM-midnight, the Friends of Santa Ana Zoo, a non-profit organization, celebrates the 19th annual Zoofari fundraising black-tie gala, "Get Spotted at the Zoo!" Get out your "leopard print" because this theme is all about the cats and raising funds for our brand new Ocelot exhibit!

Zoofari takes place each year during one of California's famous hot and steamy summer nights at the most inspiring venue in Orange County, the Santa Ana Zoo. The glamorous evening includes valet parking service underwritten by Villa Ford, a hosted bar, a fully catered sit-down dinner by Parties by Panache, animal encounters, jungle decor by R.W.B. Party Props and live and silent auctions for spectacular gifts. Zoofari guests can expect to enjoy an evening under the stars with great food, drink, live music by Sounds of Class of '69, dancing, and a special photo opportunity with the jungle parrots!

Zoofari has played an intricate role in funding the continuing upgrades and improvements of the only AZA-accredited zoo in Orange County. Reservations are required. Marketing sponsorships and program ads are available.

Sunsets at the Zoo (Tequila Tasting) Santa Ana Zoo's Summer Concert Series

On Sunday, July 17th, the Santa Ana Zoo, located at 1801 E. Chestnut Ave, will host the last of three Sunsets at the Zoo this summer. Sponsored by Villa Ford of Orange, the Zoo will host a live music performance by Ritmo Sabor y Estilo during the beautiful California sunset. Bring a picnic dinner, blanket, and your family and friends to enjoy an evening of animals, music, crafts, carrousel and train rides, and local artisan sale and displays from 5:30pm-7:30pm. Admission is $10 per person ages 3 & up, and half-price of just $5 for Zoo Members. Children under 3 are free.

New this year, you may enjoy Tequila Tasting for a $10 donation hosted by Tequila Jarro Viejo, Blue Weber Agave, sampling their select varieties. Also bid on a silent auction featuring exclusive and unique bottles of tequila.

Come early for Blues at the Zoo on the lawn in front of the play area from 2-4 PM, featuring the Mighty Mojo Prophets.Also, all guests may purchase a wristband for only $3, good for unlimited rides on the Train and Carrousel during Sunset hours only.


Sunsets at the Zoo (Wine Tasting) Santa Ana Zoo's Summer Concert Series

On Sunday, June 26th, the Santa Ana Zoo, located at 1801 E. Chestnut Ave, will host the second of three Sunsets at the Zoo. Sponsored by Villa Ford of Orange, the Zoo will host a live music performance by Elnora and Sumpthin' Cookin' during the beautiful California sunset. Bring a picnic dinner, blanket, and your family and friends to enjoy an evening of animals, music, crafts, carrousel and train rides, a silent auction, and local artisan displays from 5:30pm-7:30pm. Admission is $10 per person ages 3 & up, and half-price of just $5 for Zoo Members. Children under 3 are free.

New this year, you may enjoy Wine Tasting for a $10 donation hosted by Opolo Winery, known as "The Jewel of California's Central Coast," sampling their exclusive white and red wine varieties.

Also, all guests may purchase a wristband for only $3, good for unlimited rides on the Train and Carrousel during Sunset hours only. Mark your calendars for the third Sunset coming on July 17 (tequila tasting) from 5:30-7:30 PM featuring music by Ritmo Sabor y Estilo, art and animals.

Sponsored by Villa Ford of Orange, the Zoo will host a live music performance by Peggie Perkins during the beautiful California sunset. Bring a picnic dinner, blanket, and your family and friends to enjoy an evening of animals, music, crafts, carrousel and train rides, a silent auction, and local artisan displays from 5:30pm-7:30pm. Admission is $10 per person ages 3 & up, and half-price of just $5 for Zoo Members. Children under 3 are free.

New this year, you may enjoy "Brew at the Zoo," Beer Tasting for a $10 donation hosted by Straub Distributing Company. Samples include Shock top, Shock top Raspberry Wheat, Kona Fire Rock Pale Ale, and Kona Long Board Island Lager. Zoo Logo limited edition pint glasses will also be available for purchase for an additional fee.

On Saturday June 25th from 10 AM to 4 PM the Santa Ana Zoo, located at 1801 E. Chestnut Ave, will host a pet adoption event for dogs and cats from local shelters at the front of the Zoo entrance sponsored by PEDIGREE Food for Dogs and WHISKAS Food for Cats. Come to the Zoo and find a new kitty or doggie to join your family! PEDIGREE Brand and WHISKAS Brand sample products will be available free of charge to all consumers attending the event.

Party for the Planet!

On Saturday, April 9th, the Santa Ana Zoo, located at 1801 E. Chestnut Ave, is excited to celebrate Party for the Planet! This all-Zoo event promotes conservation and is open to the general public. Activities will take place from 11:00am-2:00pm, and is FREE with the price of admission for general public and FREE for Members. There will be international crafts, hands-on demonstrations, education stations, and tips on recycling! This is one party you won't want to miss! Conservation Carrousel and Zoofari Express Train Rides will be available for $3 each, and combo tickets for $5 each.


Santa Ana ZOO Celebrates 59 Years!

On Saturday, March 12th & Sunday, March 13th, the Santa Ana Zoo, home of the 50 monkeys, located at 1801 E. Chestnut Ave, is excited to celebrate its 59th birthday. The activities will take place from 11:00am-2:00pm on both days, and the event is FREE with the price of admission for general public and FREE for Members.

There will be a spectacular modular train display by Del Oro Pacific Railroad Club, birthday themed crafts, animal presentations, birthday treats, live entertainment by Kids Are Music, DJ Steve McGuigan, and so much more! It's going to be the wildest birthday bash of the year and it's practically in your back yard. This is one party you won't want to miss! Conservation Carrousel and Zoofari Express Train Rides will be available for $3 each, and combo tickets for $5 each.
