Butterflies will close for the season September 30, 2024
Before the season ends, visit the zoo and immerse yourself in the movement, beauty, and color of hundreds of tropical butterflies in the seasonal Flight! aviary. Study the butterfly life cycle at the emergence chamber and learn all about these winged wonders.
Take incredible photos and maybe even make a friend or two if the butterflies land on you. Wear bright colors to attract the butterflies.
Events
Enjoy this fun-filled Halloween family festival including trick-or-treating, nocturnal animal presentations, a scavenger hunt, and more.
Join zoo staff for free programs as we pop up at parks throughout Santa Ana on select Fridays. Explore nature with fun activities, and maybe even meet an animal friend.
