INTERNSHIPS: Zookeeper internships are available during the summer months of May-September. Zookeeper interns are involved in all aspects of animal care in both the Crean Family Farm and the Main Zoo, including exhibit care and maintenance, diet preparation, enrichment, and behavior observation and documentation. Zookeeping is a physically demanding profession, subjecting interns to a variety of physical demands and environmental factors. Minimum age: 18. ANIMAL SERVICES: Volunteers are needed to assist the zoo keepers with tasks such as cleaning animal exhibits, cutting diets, preparing enrichment items, cleaning around exhibits, and general exhibit maintenance. This is physically demanding work that involves dust, dirt, hay, animal dander, and various outdoor weather conditions. Minimum age: 16 in the Crean Family Farm and 18 in the Main Zoo.
