 | NAVAJO-CHURRO SHEEP From the Collection ManagerContinuing with the acquisition of animals for the new Crean Family Farm, we have received the Navajo-Churro Sheep. We have a beautiful 4-year old ram, a white ewe, and a black ewe. The sheep came from the Navajo Churro Sheep Project in Park City, Utah. The Project's goal is to return the original genetic line of the Sheep to the Navajo people for use in the making of weavings. For more information on the breed go to www.navajo-churrosheep.com.Traveling to get the sheep was a wonderful experience. We were able to enjoy the sight of the snow on the mountains without the problems of actually driving in the snow. Due to the wonderful temperament of the ram and the ewes, we were able to leave the two larger animals loose in the back of the van, while the smaller black ewe rode in a shipping kennel. | | | |
